The Flatiron, Day hike in the Lost Dutchman State Park near Phoenix

If you are looking for amazing views in Arizona, you can’t do much better than the summit of the Flatiron (5,057 feet).

On this full day hiking trip, you will get to trek to the Flatiron summit and enjoy spellbinding, 360 degree panoramic views. Some of the most incredible things you will see from this amazing summit include several Hoodoo rock formations, which consists of a rock basin and possible waterfall. And, if you are doing the hike later in the afternoon, seeing the sunset from the summit is an experience you will never forget.

Located in the Lost Dutchman Sate Park, the Flatiron is one of the most popular hiking destinations in the stunning Superstition Mountain wilderness area. Furthermore, Flatiron is located just outside of Phoenix. So, this hike makes for a great addition to a trip you may be taking to the city.

We will be taking the Siphon Draw trail to the summit. The trail is very clearly marked, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost. The total trek covers approximately 6.5 miles. You will also experience an elevation gain of approximately 2,781 feet. While the trek is not excessively difficult, participants should be in good physical condition.
