Yann Alcubilla, certified mountain guide and one of the people who knows more about the Sierra de Guara, encourages you to go with him to this Via Ferrata tour to the Spanish Pyrenees.
Are you in the mood for a new adventure? Then come and join me as we head on to the discovery of the splendid Sierra de Guara in Spain! We will spend one full day practicing Via Ferrata, a great activity for lovers of both trekking and climbing.
The Sierra de Guara is immersed in the Spanish Pyrenees and the landscapes you will witness will leave you breathless.
Via Ferrata is very safe to practice. It basically is a pathway between verticality and horizontality along a rocky surface.
Also, when the routes are aerial, the Via Ferratas have footboards, cables and metal bars. These will allow you to access to cliffs much more easily.
By coming with me to this expedition to Sierra de Guara, you will get in contact with new sensations while being in total safety.
The fact that you have metal help to climb the Sierra is what makes the trip accessible to all.
Even without Via Ferrata training, you will reach mountain tops which you couldn’t have reached before. The aid set on the rock-wall is especially meant for this.
After a little ascending effort, you will finally get to the top of the mountain. Spectacular landscapes will surround you, together with amazing views of Guara’s splendid canyons.
I will be your guide and the groups will be composed of up to 6 people. This is how I, and the staff of Expediciones, can guarantee the trip’s full safety. Also, to be sure to transmit everything the place has to offer.
So, hurry up and join me in this fantastic Via Ferrata trip to Sierra de Guara! I promise the day we spend in the insides of the Spanish Pyrenees will be fantastic and you will want to come back. I’ll be waiting for your contact. It will be a pleasure to be your guide in the discovery of this spectacular rocky landscapes.
I am Spanish, born in Pau. I was raised following the rhythm of canyoning seasons of Sierra de Guara since the 80's, where my father, together with other pioneer guides, put together the first guide companies.
I have been a privileged witness for more than 30 years and I love this sport. I have seen it progress, the evolution of the materials and techniques, the spread around the world, and unfortunately the massification of some of them, victims of their own success... I am nevertheless interested in offering an approach of canyoning guiding that is at the same time simple, transversal and complete. Indeed, beyond safety, the sporting aspect, the commitment, the techniques and the pleasure of adrenalin, I consider it important to take our time, learn and marvel all our senses (and what can be better to do so than such a varied activity combining so many elements in sublime locations), and of course respecting the vulnerable environment that welcomes us...
My favorite canyoning sites are Sierra de Guara, the Pyrénées, Morocco, Mallorca, Slovenia and Italy, but there are also sublime spots in France, New Zealand, Latin America... and all those in my to-do list that I have yet to discover.

We passed an excellent weekly end with the team of Yann from Expediciones. It was two great days with a lot of emotion.
I really enjoyed my trip and I think I will remember it for a long time. That is untill I go back and make some new memories:) Which I am sure (and hope) will happen. I learned a lot new things there. Everyone in my group were really nice and friendly people, the only disadvantage for me was that I don\'t speak french and only a few of them knew some English. So of course it would have made my trip even more enjoyable if I could communicate to everyone freely, including the guide. But even considering that we did not spreak the same language I was very happy with the guide. He gave us only things he knew we could do and made sure we felt safe at all times. He definitely did a good job on that. I have been telling everyone about this trip and saying it was one of the best I had..
