This West Maui waterfalls half-day hiking tour is a perfect chance to get to know the deep and wet Hawaiian jungle!
This program takes place in the West Maui Mountains, known by the Hawaiian people as the Mauna Kahalewai, which means “holding house of water” and its home to many sacred sites for the Hawaiian culture. They are actually part of a single volcano that has eroded by the wind and water for more than a million years.
The steep canyons slopes look like vertical forests and have every shade of green you can imagine. We’ll follow a narrow valley with a river and smaller streams which for different crystal clear pools to swim. You’ll find all kinds of trees and our guides will tell you every detail of the flora, fauna, history and culture of the area.
We have two versions of this trip: The short one is a mellow 1 mile trail. The moderate version is a bit longer, 3 miles, with an altitude gain of 500 ft and a fresh-water pool in the highest point where you’ll be able to swim all the way to an spectacular 30 feet waterfall!
