Climbing Hochgall Peak: Top Outdoor Adventures Awaiting You

At 3,436 m (11,273 ft), Hochgall Peak stands tall and boasts interesting rocky ridges and icy walls for experienced mountaineers that like challenging mountain climbing alternatives. There are several routes to the summit, on the Italian side they tend to be rockier, and on the Austrian side, they tend to be icier. A high and shiny mountain

Hochgall Peak, or Colallto, as it is also known, is the highest mountain of the Rieserferner Group, and because its north face is covered in ice, it is known for its sparkle and shine under the sun.

An exciting rock and ice climbing challenge

Climbing Hochgall requires rock climbing and ice climbing skills. From the Italian side, you will encounter more rocks, and from the Austrian side, you will encounter more ice.

Remote and rugged

Hochgall Peak is difficult to climb, therefore, it is not so crowded as other easier or more famous mountaineering options in the region.

Summer temperatures range between 14°C and 3°C, winter temperatures drop between -7°C to -14°C.
