Margalef is famous for its conglomerate stone. Here you can enjoy all kinds of slopes, but most of the routes involve vertical walls and sometimes overhanging pitches. Around 80% of the rock climbing routes in Margalef are 20 meters high, but you can also find routes 6 of meters or higher ones, up to 45 meters. Belay areas
Almost all belay areas are very comfortable and suitable for children. The approaches are usually short (1 to 5 minutes) and really enjoyable.
Climbing all year round
Although spring and autumn are the best seasons for rock climbing in Margalef, it is also possible to do it in winter, when you can climb in the sunny areas. January and February are the rainiest months.
Religion and history
Religion is focused on San Miguel. In fact, every September 29 is the San Miguel feast. And near the church, in an area known as Perxe, you can visit the oldest houses, dating from 1570.
How can I get to Margalef?
You can get Margalef by bus from Reus or Falset. The best option is to rent a car and come directly from Barcelona, by routes of excellent conditions.
When is the best time to travel to Margalef for Rock Climbing?
All year round, although spring and autumn are the best seasons.
