1+ day Snowshoeing around Zermatt, Switzerland

**The stunning Chablais mountains are situated in the western Alps , and crossing them is a dream for mountaineers and nature lovers alike. On this eight day  Chablais snowshoe traverse from Megevette to Lake Geneva we get to do just that!** And then wrap it up at a world class spa in the mountains!

Our journey begins with a pickup at the Geneva airport to transfer you to Megevette. The pickup will be arranged at a set time. It is also possible for you to make your own travel arrangements to Megevette, however it must be coordinated. As long as you make it in time to the hotel for a trip briefing and our first great dinner together,  all will be fine. Then, the next day, we will start early to get to Bellevaux. On the way, we will see some stunning sights and pass through some incredible spots as we begin our exploration of the Chablais mountains on our way to Lake Geneva. From then on, every day we will follow a similar snowshoe routine with approximately 7 hours of walking per day. **Along the way, we will go through forests, pastures, mountains, and encounter hamlets, chapels and more!**

Of course it will require some preparation. However, it won’t all be sweat and hard work! Not only will we catch some stunning sights, **we will also be staying in superb hotels and sharing amazing meals together.** Furthermore, b**ecause the luggage transfer is included, we will be able to travel comfortably during the day.** Consequently, although the trip requires a good level of fitness and will be demanding, it will be very enjoyable too. Also, keep in mind that I will be there to guide you every step of the way. And, last but definitely not least, **our last stop will be at the renowned Evian-les-Bains spa town on the shore of Lake Geneva.** So you will definitely get some well deserved pampering at our destination!

On the first day of our journey we offer a transfer at a fixed time from Geneva to Megevette. If you are not able to make it on this schedule and wish to meet directly in Megevette, this can also be arranged.

In the evening, after meeting at the hotel, we will have a short briefing of the trip, and then we will have a good dinner to prepare for the day ahead on the following morning.

Arrival in Geneva and transfer to Mégevette

After trying on our snowshoes and getting the hang of them, we will begin with a traverse up to the Col de la Bray (1442m). On the way, we will pass through several hamlets. After, we will climb to the Pointe des Jottis (1548m) to catch some breathtaking views before descending to the pastures of la Bray. Our descent will take us past the frozen Lac de Vallon, and the snow-covered forests, to Chapelle Saint-Bruno. Finally, a bus to nearby Bellevaux will take us to our hotel for the night.

Altitude gain / loss: +1053m / -819m

From Mégevette to Bellevaux

After breakfast, we will take the bus back to the previous days finishing point. From there, we will continue our snowshoeing adventure with a climb up to the Tré-le-Saix plateau (1486m). Then, we will traverse to the Col de la Balme (1445m), and on to the Col de Seytrouset (1564m), which has spectacular views of the Dents du Midi. After, we will descend to the Dranse de Morzine river, and finally, after a short climb we will arrive at our hotel in le Biot.

From Bellevaux to le Biot

Early in the morning, we will leave le Biot, and start the day with a walk through pine forests, and the snowy pastures of Thex. After passing beneath the Pointe de Cercle we will reach the Montagne de Drouzin (1620m). From there, we will descend into the Abondance valley and the Alpages de Druges. To cap off the day, we will spend the night in the charming village of Abondance.

Snowshoe from le Biot to Abondance

First, to begin the day, we will start by walking past the stunning 15th century Abbey at  Abondance and then on to the hamlet of Mont. Then, after a steady climb, we will reach the ridge of Mont Chauffe at the Col de la Plagne (1546m). From there, we will descend into the beautiful and uninhabited Ubine valley. Finally, we will continue descending until we reach Vacheresse, where we will spend the night.

Altitude gain / loss: +780m / -880m

Snowshoe from Abondance to Vacheresse

Of the many routes top reach Mont Baron, we will choose the best and head up the Replain Valley and on to the final ridge to the top of Mont Baron (1556m). After stopping to enjoy the views at the Ubine valley, we will begin our descent to the village of Bernex.

Snowshoe from Vacheresse to Bernex, via Mont Baron

On our final snowshoeing day, we will begin with a traverse of Mont Bénand (1284m). From this stunning spot we will have fabulous views of the Gavot plateau and Lac Léman (Lake Geneva). After, we will pass under the north face of the Memises, as we descent to Thollon (937m). Because of the lower altitudes we may need to continue without snowshoes at this point as we continue descening right down to Lac Léman itself. From there, we will take a transfer to Evian-les-Bains,  a renowned spa town on the shores of the lake, which is the perfect way to wrap up our spectacular journey.  ​

From Bernex to Evian-les-Bains

After breakfast we will say our goodbyes. There are a few easy options to get to the Geneva airport: a scenic ferry and a train, or a taxi and a train.  The airport transfer is not included.

**If you want to live a unique overnight stay in the mountains, please let me invite you to this hut to hut tour in the Swiss Alps. We'll just put our snowshoes on and venture into the most outstanding places in the area.**

It will be a really wild adventure in the loneliness of the **Swiss Alps**. The hiking tour includes amazing landscapes as well as alpine environments. Don't forget to include warm clothes and something to eat in your backpack!

Once we are high up in the hut you will enjoy a really comfortable stay. Moreover, we will heat the place thanks to the wood stove and enjoy a hot soup. After that, **you will taste a delicious homemade meal**. It will be a unique moment in which we will spend a nice night, playing games and sharing stories. In addition, you will have the opportunity of **making your own photoshoot at sunset**. The mountains around and such a starry sky form a beautiful panorama to treasure in your album.

The following morning **I will prepare the best breakfast of all the Swiss Alps.** Afterwards, we'll go down back to the valley or continue the adventure to another hut. In that way, you can choose the number of days you want to spend hiking in the Alps. Take into account that getting to the hut will take us about 3 hours on foot.

These snowshoeing proposals are **suitable for all levels of hikers**. In fact, it is a perfect opportunity to live a wild experience with your family or kids. Moreover, a mountain hut is a magic place to spend a different birthday with your friends or even celebrate a bachelor party!

During these hiking tours, we can go to any mountain hut of the Swiss Alps. However, I always recommend the following ones:

**Pointe Percée – Gramusset Hut**

A really authentic refuge **below Pointe Percée**. It is a remote mountain hut that can be reached by beginners as well as experienced hikers.

**Véran CAF Sallanches**

It is a perfect hut for the winter with a capacity of 27 people. Besides that, it is luxurious and very comfortable. It is also really easy to approach to this hut. Its surroundings offer many activities to do during the afternoon.

**Täsch Refuge Zermatt**

It is located in a remote valley in the Alps. The hut lays on a rocky groove overlooking the entire valley. From **Täsch** we can snowshoe to this hut through a high and alpine terrain.

**Leglerhütte Glarnerland**

It is a mountain hut covered by snow in a remote area of the _**Glarus**_ **Alps**. Inside the **Mettmen Natural Reserve**, we can live a unique experience snowshoeing in an amazing terrain. Far from the crowds, this 2-day alpine adventure is perfect for advanced hikers. **The Kärpf** is a stunning peak close to this hut which offers unique sights of **the valley of Glarnerland**. In fact, from there you can even admire the 4000-meter mountains of the west.

I pick you up at our meeting point or at your accommodation. We take a short transfer with our minibus to the starting point of our adventure. After a short instruction we start our snowshoe hike up to the mountain hut where we will spend the night. Along the way, I will explain you a lot about the nature and the surrounding mountains. Half-way up we are going to have a short break with some warm tea and a quick bite out of the lunch-pack. Then, we continue the hike up to the hut. After around two hours of hiking we will reach the hut and install ourselves there. There are many things to do once we arrive! You can try to chop some firewood, you can start a fire in the wood burner, you can get some snow which we need to melt to get some water, you can help to cook, you can make the place cozy with candles and lights or you can simply relax and enjoy the great views and the nice atmosphere!

After a busy afternoon I will give you a great 3 course hut dinner. We can either cook a traditional and local dish or make a real cheese-fondue. We will spend the rest of the evening with gorgeous hut games before we go to bed.

GETTING TO THE HUT

After a cozy night in the hut, we start the day early and enjoy a healthy breakfast with fresh coffee and tea before we head off to another great day in the mountains. Depending on your wishes we can hike back down to the valley or do a great snowshoe hike high up in the mountains before we head back down. Once we reached the minivan I will bring you back to your accommodation or the meeting point.

**The Verbier, Entremont region offers numerous snowshoeing outings and the choices are endless.**

I propose here a 2-day hike with an overnight stay in one of the famous local mountain huts, the Cabane Brunet.

The **Cabane Brunet** is set in the heart of the Val de Bagnes and comes highly recommended because of its incredible location. This area provides delightful walks through the forest with breathtaking views of the mountain ranges. The main theme of this outing is based on the wildlife and their winter habitat and the rapid melting of the glaciers and the repercussions this has on the environment and local economy.

**DAY 1 : WALKING UP TO THE CABANE MARCEL BRUNET ALT 2103m**

800m+ 3 h

The first day we can either drive or take the local bus up to the starting point which is located above the village of Lourtier. From here the path follows an easy trail which connects to a beautiful path in the forest and quickly becomes more vertical. This lovely trail winds up through the forest and eventually meets an opening where the views become more evident. As the trees become more spaced out the surrounding peaks begin to appear. Finally when we leave the forest the swiss flag is visible and our destination is approaching, the Cabane Brunet can be seen perched up on the ridge. On arriving at the cabane you will be warmly welcomed and rewarded with the delicious local specialities.

**DAY 2 : LE GOLI DES OTANES ALT. 2552M AND RETURNING TO THE VALLEY FLOOR**

The second day consists of crossing up and down a succession of small valleys in the beautiful setting of the massif de Combins (and in particular the Petit Combin). This trail leads us under the foothills of the Mont Rogneux where the views of the surrounding area are sensational. The descent is via the same itinerary and allows us to enjoy the view of the bottom half of the Val de Bagnes, and finally the last stop at the Cabane Brunet before heading down.

Snowshoeing in Verbier and Entremont

**We take the cable car from Châble to Côt de Bruson. We fit our snowshoes and we forget the worries of our life for a day, by entering the wonderful world of Mont Brun.**

This trip is perfect in any weather. If the weather is good, the views over the valley are incredible. In case of snow and wind, we will be sheltered by the forest trees.

We’ll alternate wide paths, lost paths and complete off-track.

Spruce forest, larch pastures of Larzey. There are many animal traces, and we have a high chance to see the chamois, deers and does. A wolf was even glimpsed in Mont Brun and its presence was confirmed in Entremont!

Anticipate for all day and a picnic.

– Walking time: from 5 to 6 hours  
– Altitude change and distance: 500 m +, 500 m, 7-8 km.

The trace is not always set, so therefore the walk can take a little more effort in different days.

**The trip is programmed during the winter, and the walk is perfect in any weather. So remember that the foggy and white days are when skiing is not necessarily the most exciting activity! The animals and their tracks will be there to entertain us! Please contact me and we’ll discuss it.**

I invite you to join me in this beautiful snowshoeing hike in the **Combins** range, in the Alps. This is in fact one of my favourite hikes.

It's an opportunity to wake up in a mountain hut. Then to wake up in the true alpine environment of the Combins massif. We will be facing the famous Verbier ski resort.

This tour is adapted in particular to enjoy the animal life of the mountains in the winter. In addition, we will see and discuss the melting of the glaciers and its consequences.

It is among this breathtaking backdrop that we will explore on snowshoes, an excellent alternative to skiing for discovering the snowy mountains.

I have a long record of leading groups on exciting adventures among the snow-filled mountains of Verbier. I’ll take you to my favorite spots where you can feel assured that you’ll know the very best of the region.

Verbier is part of the 4 Vallees region, along with the resorts of Bruson, Nendaz, Thyon, La Tzoumaz and Veysonnaz. That’s right, there are actually 6 resorts of the 4 Vallees! This makes it the largest skiable area in Switzerland.

If the snow conditions are good then we can start the day from the bottom of the mountain, working our way up the slopes and into remote areas. In different conditions we can take the chair lift to enter the mountains.

Witness the dramatic peaks, trek through quiet forests, and experience the serene surrounds of the great outdoors.

Join me on this great **hut-to-hut glacier tour in Bishorn**. This peak has an altitude of 4153 meters. It is located just north of the Weisshorn, in the heart of the **Pennine Alps**.

It's my pleasure to invite you to this **5-day glacier trek**. I think that Bishorn is a perfect mountain for those who love to discover wild and **majestic landscapes away from the crowds**.

As for the itinerary, this trekking tour starts in **St. Niklaus**, where we'll take a cable car. Once we reach the Alpe Boys station we must cross the **Wasenlücke Pass** to reach our first mountain hut, the _Topalihütte_ at 2674 m.

We will then follow an easy trail up to the **Schölli glacier**. Here, we'll have to climb a short section so we can get to the Schöllijoch mountain pass. From here, we will climb the **3610-meter-high Barrhron** to finally descend to our second hut, the _Turtmannhütte_ at 2519 m.

On our third day we must first hike to **Brunegg**, a Swiss commune, and then continue over the Turtmann Glacier to arrive at the _Tracuit hut_.

The adventure continues by ascending to the Firnhänge so we can access a short snow ridge that leads to the **Bishorn Mountain**. Once up there, the views of the Weisshorn and the surrounding mountains of the Valais Canton are simply breathtaking. Then, we descend to the next hut — _Tracuithütte_ at 3256m.

On the last day, and after a leisurely breakfast, we will say goodbye to the glacier world and descend to **Zinal**, where this fantastic program ends.
