Description

Let me share with you my love for Hakuba in the Japan Alps. So you can enjoy it as much as I do everytime I snowboard across its pristine layers of snow.

Ride along with me on this snowboarding adventure. We can craft our own itinerary, and hit the fantastic slopes of Hakuba for half a day, a full day or more. It all depends on how much you want to explore, and how long would you like to stay.

I know this place like the back of my hand, being one of my favorite places to practice. I’m proudly ranked 1st in Japan and 5th in the world. This was only possible due to my constant practice. But it would have been more difficult to accomplish it in other places. As Hakuba is a uniquely winter paradise, that combines the best snowboarding slopes with hypnotizing sceneries.

Hakuba also hosts different types of slopes. Hence it is perfect for those wishing to improve their skills. But it is also ideal for advanced snowboarders who wish to test themselves.

However, please note that I am not a tour guide, nor an instructor. Therefore, the focus of our trip, rather than guiding and teaching, will be on enjoying our ride together. I will share with you some pointers. But, my priority will be for us to have a wonderful time here.

Please note that you will need to sign a liability waiver prior to the beginning of the trip.
Participant will need to have appropriate insurance coverage (including skiing and snowboarding)

Also, for safety and liability reasons, we will stay within ski resort boundaries at all times.

I'm a Freeride World Tour athlete as well as a PSA professional snowboarder.

Among the achievements I'm most proud of are:
- Champion of Freeride World Tour in Hakuba
- 5th overall in 2018 Freeride World Tour
- Champion of Freeride World Qalifier in Hakuba
- 1st in Japan for Freeride World Qualifier
- 2012 JSBA All Japan Snowboarding Competition SX, 1st
- 2014 SAJ All Japan Ski Competition SBX, 3rd

For the 2018-2019 winter season, I will be based in Niseko for the first half of January, then from mid January until April I will be in Hakuba Valley. Grand Hirafu in Niseko, the Hakuba Valley and Zao Onsen in Yamagata are among my favorite resorts in Japan. I've also skied a lot in Whistler (BC, Canada) and The Remarkables in New Zealand.

I can have everyday conversations in English and am happy to ride with both skiers and snowboarders. I would just love to spend some fun time with people who love to ride!

I booked 2 days with Wakana and she has been a really great guide! Absolutely no regret! Wakana knows very well Hokkaido overall and will make sure to bring you to the best areas outside the slopes whether you’re a skier or snowboarder. She has been very flexible onto the organization, adjusting the tour to go to the best spots to find good snow. We were originally thinking to spend the 2 days in the Furano area but ended up going to Kamui the second day where there was finally more powder. Most importantly, she’s also a very nice person to spend time with. I definitely recommend her!
