Ride in Niseko for a day with FWQ snowboarder Yumiko Ohta

Niseko is one of Japan’s most famous places for snowboarding. It’s also a very touristic place, due to its breathtaking sceneries.

Come with me on this fantastic day trip to snowboard across Niseko. We will explore its most wonderful snow terrains. And we will be dazzled by the magnificent views of Mount Yotei, rising at 1,898 meters above Hokkaido.

Beyond the hypnotizing sceneries in Niseko, the snowing conditions here are unrivalled. As it receives several heavy snowfalls all throughout the winter season. Hence, it offers some of the best snow in the country!

This place is marvellous to visit on its own. However, having the chance to ride with a professional athlete is an opportunity you cannot miss. I am a Freeride World Qualifier (FWQ) athlete. What’s more, I am ranked 4th in Japan and 47th in the world. Being in the top 50 means constantly practicing and finding the best spots to snowboard. And Niseko is, without any doubt, one of my favorite locations.

I would love to share with you not only my love for snowboarding, but also for this stunning place. Moreover, it would be my pleasure to explore Niseko, as we descend its wonderful slopes. However, keep in mind I am not a mountain guide, nor a snowboarding instructor. So, for security reasons our adventure will only take place within the ski resorts.
