Located at the edge of the surrounding Japanese Alps, the Maiko Snow Resort is in a perfect spot. Moisture sweeps in from the Sea of Japan, dumping meters of snow each year – and not just any snow, light and dry stuff that makes skiing feel like a dream!
The surrounding area is rife with phenomenal terrain that can keep the professionals busy for days – precisely what makes this THE program of a lifetime! Come with me to this snowy paradise and spend a day or more discovering the vast runs, alpine bowls, and every feature of a world-class resort! You will be in the company of Japan’s 19th-ranked Freeride World Qualifier skier, a trip you won’t come across every day.
Maiko has runs for everyone – as long as you can assess your own skills and abilities, I’m happy to ski next to you and share in the fun. I’m not a certified guide, but I will offer tips and secrets that have helped me develop into a better skier. You can see which lines I select on my way down the mountain.
This is one of my favorite areas to ski in Japan. The landscape, the atmosphere, and the snow are all great reasons to head to Maiko, and I credit my own career to this unique and addicting terrain. I am not a certified mountain guide, so please keep in mind that, for safety reasons, we will stay within ski resort boundaries at all times.

I've been skiing for 30 years and am a SAJ (Ski Association of Japan) Ski instructor.
Between 2006 and 2014, I was a SAJ Demonstrator. Since 2013, I've been running the Maiko Ski School. In 2018, I took part in the FWQ competition at Arai and came in 6th.
I've been a local rider at Maiko Ski Resort for a long time and I know every corner of this ski area. I'll be able to teach you and give you tips on Racing, Technical skiing, Freeriding, Telemarking or snowboarding so that you're able to enjoy the mountains like never before!
I also spend some time every season in the US or Australia as a pro rider.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much.
