Join me for this excellent and exciting 1-week rock climbing trip in the diverse and scenic locales of Skaha Bluffs and Squamish, British Columbia!

We will be in for quite a treat as we explore these two popular British Columbian climbing destinations, which offer great contrast both in geology and scenery.

We begin in Skaha Bluffs, near the interior town of Penticton, where we will be climbing desert-like gneiss cliffs. The whole provincial park is like a playground, with thousands of different routes to choose from combining sport, trad, and mixed climbing.

When we are not climbing, we will be able to enjoy the town as well as the picturesque beaches on both the Skaha and Okanagan lakes, which surround Penticton.

After two days here, we will spend another half-day finishing up any climbs we really want to do before taking the scenic drive to the coast and checking into our next hostel.

We will spend the next two days climbing the expansive and pristine granite walls that the area has to offer. Trad climbing is the most popular option here, but not to worry, the area also boasts fantastic sport climbing and plenty of bouldering.

Squamish is especially known for its excellent crack climbing due to the unbeatable rock quality that will make you feel very confident in your abilities.

On our final day, we will do some morning climbing before enjoying lunch together and heading out. Depending on where in British Columbia you need to go, we may be able to get you there ourselves.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

We will meet at our first hostel and go over our plan for the trip.

Day 2 to 3: Skaha Bluffs

We will spend these two days exploring and climbing in Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park.

Day 4: Skaha and Travel

We will spend the morning climbing before making a scenic drive to the coast.

Day 5 to 6: Squamish

We will spend two more days climbing and exploring around Squamish.

Day 7: Goodbye

We will spend the morning climbing in Squamish before leaving and all heading home.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge.
