Description

Ride the deep and mysterious forests of Hokkaido with me, a professional Freeride World Tour skier.

I am ranked first in Japan, and seventeenth in the world. With Hokkaido as my base, I know the secret powder points of the region.

Hokkaido is the second largest island of Japan that lies at the northernmost point of the country. The geography of the island fits perfectly into a weather pattern that brings an abundance of white powder. Some areas even receive between 14-18 meters of snowfall each year.

Hokkaido has a reputation for deep powder skiing. And with the island being sparsely populated, it has a deeper rural feeling. Less tracks, more wilderness. Less noise, more solitude.

There are dozens of ski resorts in Hokkaido that are close together. Rusutsu is a haven for deep powder snow, with annual falls of 14 meters. It is home to some of the greatest tree skiing in the world.

The resort of Niseko is one of Japan’s most international, receiving constant snow and home to quality runs. Or the Asahidake resort which contains the highest mountain in Hokkaido, keeping the snow very cool. Mount Asahi is a stratovolcano, which last erupted in 1739, and rises to 2,291 meters.

So take advantage of this opportunity and join me in the sublime Japanese mountains of Hokkaido.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
