Description

Mount Shasta is a volcanic peak located in Northern California, near the Oregon border. It is part of the Cascade Range, which stretches from Canada to northern California. Rising 14,162 feet, Shasta is an amazing spot for mountaineers. On this 2-day tour, an expert guide will guide you through the Clear Creek route to its summit.

Consisting of four overlapping volcanic cones, Mount Shasta can be seen from the floor of the Central Valley, 140 miles south. Several glaciers hang from the main summit of the mountain, such as the Whitney, the longest in California, and the Hotlum, the most voluminous one of the state.

Clear Creek is the least technical way to get to the top of Mount Shasta. This route is basically a straight line up the mountain and follows natural formations. In Clear Creek Meadow, an excellent area for summer camping, we will appreciate a wonderful alpine landscape even before reaching the summit, which offers a unique visual experience.

Furthermore, Mount Shasta has also an historic appeal. Three Native Americans tribes originally inhabited this region: the Modocs, the Klamaths and the Wintun. The massive volcano held special religious significance to all of them.

So, if you are up for an unforgettable mountaineering summer expedition, please contact us! We will be glad to guide you to the top of the imposing Mount Shasta!

This trip will be operated by one of the 3 permit holder outfitters: Shasta Mountain Guides, Alpine Skills International and SWS Mountain Guides.

I really loved it. Intro to rock climbing was an amazing experience. Explore-share team were so helpful in the process. The trip that I chose in the first place was not available and they managed to find alternatives and offer me the best possible solution in that situation. In the end I had a wonderful day and could not be happier!

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

It would have been helpful to know it was suppose to be a Matterhorn prep course. The goals of the group were a little different.
