Description

Definitely one of the most impressive peaks in North America, Mount Baker (10,781 feet) is a fantastic peak to climb. And on this 3 day adventure, I would like to take you to its summit, where you can enjoy some tremendous views.

Located in the Cascades range in the state of Washington, Mount Baker is an amazing mountain. And the path leading up to it is nothing short of gorgeous. Beginning with a scenic drive from Seattle, we will start hiking to our base camp through the Snoqualmie national forest.

On the following day, we will focus on practicing many of the skills necessary for climbing a mountain like Mount Baker. Some of the skills we will be practicing include the following.

  • Ice axe positions and self-arrest techniques

  • Use of crampons

  • Climbing knots

  • Hazard assessment

  • Cold weather camping skills

  • Leave no trace camping

  • Walking techniques with and without crampons

  • Glacier travel skills and rope management

  • And much more

After the day of practice, and an early dinner and sleep, we will wake up with darkness still abound. We will begin our ascent early in the morning, and will reach the  summit of Mount Baker just as the sun has started to rise. This will ensure you enjoy a truly remarkable viewing experience from an altitude exceeding 10,000 feet!

Full of great views, a thrilling climb, and plenty of important learning and practice time, this 3 day adventure is a memorable experience. If you would like to be a part of it, just send me a request.

Great trip. Weather was only bummer as it rained one whole day. Guides were very helpful and friendly. Plan to do it again next year.
