Description

Standing tall in the Olympics mountains, Mount Olympus (7,980 feet) is a true highlight in the state of Washington.

For 4 days, I would like to guide you to the summit of the great Mount Olympus. However, like most great mountaineering expeditions, reaching the summit of the peak is just the culmination of a multi-faceted adventure.

Our trip will begin in the wonderful city of Seattle. Shortly after meeting however, we will leave the city behind as we make our way through the lush, dense rain forest in the Hoh valley. Within the great forest, you will get to admire a variety of amazing different giant trees. Some examples include HemlockSitka SpruceDouglas Firs and mighty Ceders. Following our trek through the rain forest, we will begin our journey to top of Mount Olympus.

Our ascent of the mountain will involve crossing a glacier and scaling steep, snowy slopes. It will be tough at points, but we will make sure you are not only safe, but properly instructed every step of the way. And the rewards of standing atop the summit are well worth it. From the peak’s apex, you will get to gaze upon the Olympic mountains and even the Pacific ocean!

As a result of the challenging conditions of the climb, it is important that participants have prior backpacking experience and are in good physical condition. However, you do not require prior mountaineering experience. Hence why we can take people as young as 13 years old to the summit of Mount Olympus.

If you want to summit this great mountain in the Pacific Northwest, just send me a request. I look forward to guiding you.

We will meet in the beautiful city of Seattle. From there, we will take a drive and scenic ferry ride across the Puget Sound to the Hoh River trail head. From the trail head, we will begin our journey through the amazing Hoh valley and its magical rainforest until we reach our campsite, where we will stay the night. We will trek for approximately 10 miles, and gain approximately 400 feet.

Day 2: Glacier Meadows

Today’s trek will see us departing the rain forest and entering alpine territory until we reach our camp site at Glacier Meadows, where we will spend the night. We will trek for approximately 7.5 miles and gain approximately 3,300 feet.

Day 3: Mount Olympus summit (7,980 feet)

After an early breakfast, we will begin our ascent to the summit of Mount Olympus. We will start by crossing the Blue glacier and climbing the Snow Dome at 6,600 feet. Afterwards, we will continue on to the summit of the mountain, where you will get to enjoy majestic views. After descending, we can either go back to Glacier Meadows for the night, or Lewis Meadow, depending how arduous the summit climb was. We will trekking for approximately 16.5 miles, while gaining approximately 3,700 feet and descending approximately 7,000 feet.

Day 4: Return to Trail Head

On the final day of the adventure, we will wake up early, have breakfast, and trek through the forest for approximately 10 miles back to the trail head. Afterwards, we will drive back to Seattle.

Sandeep and his wife, Jasmine, are lovely guides! We did a 1 day intro to rock climbing excursion with them and we had a great time! They communicated well and provided us with a fun and safe day of climbing. They chose routes based on our experience and taught us a lot. I highly recommend hiring Miyar Adventures. We have already shared their info with friends and family.

Five days of awesome is all I can say. Glen our instructor and guide was extremely knowledgeable. I had previous glacier mountaineering experience and his techniques were so much more efficient than what I had been taught. To top it off we had a great summit day.

Whole group summited! Huge thanks to the guides for helping us all get there! It's certainly not an easy climb, but the entire experience was fantastic. Especially loved the snow skills training on the second day. Lots of fun was had practicing the self arrest & team arrest. The team arrest training was a huge confidence builder to see that I wasn’t going to take the entire team down if I fell The lead guide (Glen) was fabulous. You can tell he really enjoys sharing his passion for the outdoors with the guests on his trip. Folks in the store are super helpful as well. Sandeep (owner) is great, and have talked with him in the store & via email several times to get advice. Great pre-trip guidance (including a meeting the night before the climb to make sure you have all the gear you need & nothing you don’t), and you can tell how much Sandeep cares about making sure every guest has a great experience. Lots of reasonably priced gear rental options available here as well if you aren’t sure if mountaineering is for you. Considering a Kili trip while I’m still in good hiking shape, and they’ll be the first place I look at if I decide to book.

I took the Mountaineering skills course (5 days) in Baker. I learned so much about Glacier travel, rope management, crevasse rescue, and much more! Glen, our guide was awesome and highly knowledgeable. We also got to summit Mt. Baker during the course which was the most magical part! I HIGHLY recommend them!

Myself and my daughter climbed Mt. Baker with Miyar Adventures via Easton Glacier route, Simon was our guide. The whole experience was epic in many ways. Simon's knowledge is excellent, I would trust him 100% in any situations that may come up on the mountain. We learned a lot and it was fun. The overall organization from Miyar was great (including informational emails from Jake and communication with Sandeep). Great company that I would choose again in a heartbeat.
