Description

Mount Shasta is one of the largest stratovolcanoes in the world, with an altitude of 4,321m. Located in California, it is part of the Cascade Range, which stretches from the north of this state to British Columbia (Canada). In this outing you will reach its summit after an amazing 3-day winter ascent.

Mount Shasta consists of four volcanic cones including the main summit and the prominent satellite peak of Shastina (3,760m). It is surrounded by the most amazing wilderness, with lots of mountain lakes, streams and rivers. We will climb this mountain while enjoying these amazing landscapes.

Winter can bring storms and high winds, deep snow and extremely poor visibility. For this expedition you need to have considerable experience in mountaineering under extreme conditions.

There are a lot of different climbing routes to attempt the summit of Mount Shasta. During the winter, Sargents Ridge and Casaval Ridge are the best to avoid avalanche danger. We will choose the specific itinerary depending on your skills and the weather conditions.

So, if are you up for this extreme expedition in Mount Shasta, please contact us! It will be an unforgettable experience for you and your friends!

This trip will be operated by one of the 3 permit holder outfitters: Shasta Mountain Guides, Alpine Skills International and SWS Mountain Guides.

Ended up booking a one-night-and-one-day hike summiting Mt Shasta because Mt Rainier was booked out.

I really loved it. Intro to rock climbing was an amazing experience. Explore-share team were so helpful in the process. The trip that I chose in the first place was not available and they managed to find alternatives and offer me the best possible solution in that situation. In the end I had a wonderful day and could not be happier!

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

It would have been helpful to know it was suppose to be a Matterhorn prep course. The goals of the group were a little different.
