If you are looking for a grandiose alpine experience, this trip is for you. We are going up to the top of Mount Rainier in a 4-day tour via the amazing Emmons Glacier.
Mount Rainier (4,392 m.), located in Washington, is the highest mountain of the Cascade Range. This large active stratovolcano dominates, on clear days, the southeastern horizon in most of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area.
Encompassing 26 glaciers, Mount Rainier is the most heavily glaciated peak in the lower 48 states. All the routes to its summit require technical climbing skills and use of crampons, ice axes, harnesses, and ropes. Not for nothing Rainier is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes all over the world.
The Emmons Glacier is the biggest glacier in all the contiguous United States. Situated on the northeast flank of Mount Rainier, is often used as a route to its top. This mountain traverse crosses over the Glacier Basin and the Inger Glacer before getting to the highest point of the U.S. state of Washington, and also the highest peak of the Cascade Range.
