Description

Stretching over 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) and including 4,000 meters (13,100 feet) of ascents, heading on a Cuillin Ridge traverse is not to be missed!

Situated on the Isle of Skye, just west of the Scottish mainland, Cuillin is considered to be on par with a classic Alpine ridge traverse.

Known as “the Holy Grail of British scrambling”, we will have the privilege to spend 4 days climbing its 11 famous munros – more than 20 summits in all – all of which are at least 914 meters (3,000 feet) in elevation!

Over the course of our time together, we will do some technical scrambling, abseiling, rock climbing and spend the night in a bivouac.

The adventure begins after we meet up and discuss our plans. The rest of the days will be spent making a warm up scrambling ascent of Amphitheatre Arete on Sron na Ciche.

The following day, we will transfer by speed boat to the south of the Black Cuillin Mountains and start out traverse on Gars Bhein (or Dubh Slabs for a more technically difficult climb).

One of the many highlights of the trip will be climbing Inaccessible Pinnacle on the second day. The highest of the munros on Cuillin Ridge is also the most challenging, but rewards hardy scramblers with simply sublime views over the mountains and island.

The third day will be spent finishing off any of the munros we may have missed. Depending on the weather, we may change the order in which we climb the munros.

The fourth day serves as an extra day, in case of bad weather. However, if all goes well, we will head to another part of the island for a new scrambling adventure before we say goodbye.

So what are you waiting for? Book now for this scenic and exciting 4-day Cuillin Ridge traverse on the Isle of Skye!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
