Discover a top ski touring destination in the Dolomites.
Experience the thrill of ski touring in the Fanes Group.
Spend the nights in charming mountain huts.
The Fanes Group is an Italian mountain range that belongs to the Dolomites, and is a popular destination among winter sports lovers. This 4-day trip is your chance to explore this region on an awesome ski touring experience!
Located to the east of the Val Badia valley, in the comunes of Badia and Corvara (South Tyrol), the Fanes offer stunning powder terrain. Considered a highlight for ski touring, most of its peaks are protected by the scenic Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park.
On this 4-day expedition, we will climb to amazing uncrowded spots to enjoy long descents on top-quality snow. Monte Castello, Cima Ciamin and Sela de Sennes are some of the areas that we can explore. In addition, we will stay in cozy mountain huts and try delicious local dishes!
Please note that this trip is suitable for intermediate ski tourers with a good fitness level. However, if you are an expert, I will make sure to find some challenging descents for you!
So, ¿what are you waiting for? If you want to experience some fabulous ski touring in the Dolomites, please contact me. Let’s explore the Fanes Group and live an amazing winter adventure!
I can also take you to the Silvretta Alps for a similar tour. Check it out here.
I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.
Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.
My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).
Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

Renato is a fantastic, knowledgable, entertaining guide. He navigated through the worst white out I have ever experienced with bat-like senses, managed the differing levels of fitness in our group with humour and a deft touch, and was a great companion at dinner. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him for any tour or guided skiing experience.

Renato is not only a great tour guide but an excellent trainer, too. I increased my climbing from 4+ to 6b and so he made me nosy for ice climbing. He knows best and secret ice falls and guarantees unforgettable memories. Hope to climb with him soon again!

Renato is a superb guide who adapts quickly to individual’s capabilities. We did several tours in the areas around Madonna de Campiglio. He is great at finding good snow, on safe terrain. He is also fun to ski with and has a great sense of humour- in English and several other languages, as well as Italian. Renato is one of the top guides in Europe. We recommend him with enthusiasm!

Since Renato could not confirm our trip, his son Etienne (who is also a mountain guide) did a perfect job guiding us firstly on Via Ferratas and going all the way up to a pure rock climbing on the last day. We have gained exactly what we\'ve wanted from this trip and thanks to Etienne - even more! Etienne showed himself as a professional guide, who truly knows the mountain, who is able to quickly evaluate his client\'s capabilities and suggest appropriate routes in order to enhance the excitement, and who is willing to share his experience and knowledge to increase your degree of immersion!

Renato had organized Bruno as a guide as he couldn’t do the day we wanted. Renato Everything was well communicated. Bruno was an excellent guide who knew so much about the Dolomites. All in all a great day. Thoroughly recommended.

Etienne was our guide for 3 nights 4 days - he provided a fantastic few days which had bit everything, skinning, climbing, great powder, amazing views away from other groups. Etienne is very experienced and considered for his young age and I had total faith in his decisions and ideas. He created a safe but adventurous trip and catered for everyones needs. Also a great guy to spend time with in huts very easy going - but watch out he is a demon card player! Really enjoyed it, fully recommend him and would use him again.

Etienne is a great guide with plenty of mountain knowledge and experience. He expertly guided the 4 of us across the Silvretta Alps, through conditions both white-out and blue sky, starting at Ischgl and staying in mountain huts in Austria and Switzerland. His passion for the mountains is evident and we felt very safe in his risk adverse hands. Etienne speaks perfect English and has a good sense of humour, which made for good company at the card table in the evenings. I would recommend him to anyone and look forward to touring again with him next year. Andy

Renato was a fantastic guide and very professional. He was well prepared and very experienced. We got unlucky and got stuck in some very bad weather one day and he did an amazing job of leading our group out of a bad situation. The Silvretta traverse was a great trip - beautiful mountains and very nice huts to spend the nights. I would definitely recommend both Renato and this tour!

Our group of six have just returned from a magical four day tour of the Silvretta Traverse. The sun shone, the snow was superb and all the while Renato led us with a mixture humour, patient consideration and under-stated authority. He taught us the key skills of ski touring, including vital avalanche training and other mountaineering craft. Renato was excellent company throughout and I could not recommend him more highly. A true gent of the mountains.

My family had a great time with our Via Ferrata trip! We all loved our guide, Renato!! He really made all the difference in making our experience from good to great! He was very mindful and goes out of his way with ensuring that our family has an enjoyable and safe experience. He chose the right degree of difficulty for our trip. We enjoyed hearing about all his tips, stories, future trip recommendations. He took a lot of pictures of our family at great scenic spots. He even treated us to cappucinno drinks along the way. We enjoyed being together with him so much, we shared beverage, snack and stories with him after the activity was over. We will definitely seek him as our guide again next time and will not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Our first via ferrata experience for our group of four was wonderful! Renato was great in communicating/coordinating with us. He adapted well to the different skill/fitness levels of those in our group. He even took pictures of us throughout the trip. We later found out it was his birthday! What a great way to celebrate a birthday by sharing in what he loves to do. Would highly recommend for beginners.

Explore share were highly responsive and found me a guide very last minute who was excellent. My only comment would be that due to the speed at which we completed the route, the day ended early afternoon so it would have been nice to fill out the rest of the time - it would therefore be helpful to clarify what is included in the price (e.g. am I paying for time such as a full day, or the route etc).
