6-day Trek in the Sierra Nevada with summits on Veleta (3,398m) & Mulhacén (3,487m), from Güéjar Sierra

Enjoy 6 days of trekking and get to the top of different peaks in the Sierra Nevada on this fantastic program from Güéjar Sierra. We’ll enjoy trekking in beautiful natural spots and visit the lovely towns in the historical region of La Alpujarra, in Andalusia. Of course, we’ll also get to see incredible views of the range from the top of the mountains.

On day 1, we’ll depart from Güéjar Sierra to the Veleta Peak. This summit, at 3,398 meters of altitude, is the fourth tallest mountain in Spain, and the second in the range. It’s a very popular destination in Sierra Nevada. Plenty of participants come to reach this mountain every year.

On day 2, it will be the turn of Lavaderos de la Reina, a very wild natural area inside the Sierra Nevada National Park. On day 3, we’ll get to Vereda de la Estrella, a nice trail with plenty of vegetation and excellent views of the peaks in the range. On day 4, we’ll go to Poqueira Refuge, very near Mulhacén (3,487 meters), that we’ll reach on day 5. This mountain is the highest peak in the Iberian Peninsula. Finally, on the last day, we’ll enjoy trekking in some of the most beautiful towns of La Alpujarra, such as Trevélez, Pampaneira, Pitres and Capileira and then end our program.

As for the difficulty, keep in mind that this program is for participants with prior hiking experience and a good level of fitness. We’ll face a varied terrain and spend 5-8 hours trekking per day.
