Description

The Scandinavian fells, also known as the Scandinavian Mountains, run through the northern end of Scandinavia and make for some of Europe’s best backcountry skiing.

Join us and over the course of 8 days, we will head out on an unforgettable hut-to-hut skiing adventure through the Kasivarsi Wilderness Area.

We will spend most of our trip above the tree line, enjoying incredible views as well as exploring the various mountains in the range, some of which are 1.000 meters high. We will even summit Finland’s tallest mountain (1.324 meters) as we go!

Each night will be spent in a different mountain hut, but if everyone is willing, we will also have the option to try out some Arctic camping.

Among the various highlights you can expect to enjoy on the trip are seeing frozen waterfalls, which are always an impressive sight, as well as enjoying the solitude of the empty Finnish backcountry.

At dark, we will also be privy to the Northern Lights. With no other competing source of light in the backcountry, we should get some unparalleled great views of this spectacular phenomenon.

Can I join a group for this expedition?

Yes, there are several scheduled dates to join a group for this expedition, from January to April. You can click on 'See Dates and Prices', and check the scheduled Group Dates.

What's included in this expedition?

All the gear, food, transport during the trip (and also to and from Tromso), and accommodation is included. Please note that if you do not have your own suitable BC ski shoes (Rottefella NNN BC, but NOT NNN xc bindings), we can rent them for 50 euros extra. Please do not hesitate to ask if there is anything more you would like to know!
