Description
Situated in the stunning boreal forests of northern Finland, Pyhä-Luosto National Park is the perfect place for a skiing and snowshoeing touring adventure!
Starting from one of two hotels, we will begin the 4-day tour by skiing past the 514-meter high Ukko-Luosto Fell, enjoying great views of it, before continuing on through the unique Taiga forest and on to the mountain hut.
The following couple of days at the hut will be spent exploring the surrounding areas on your skis and getting the chance to try out ice fishing on two different lakes.
Afterwards, we will transfer to another hut and swap our skis out for snowshoes. We will spend the rest of the trip walking through the scenic Pyhä-Luosto fell range, getting the chance to go up to the highest point of the fell chain, Noitatunturi.
From here, we will enjoy the best views of the Pyhä-Luosto National Park before snowshoeing out of the fells to enjoy the saunas at Lake Pyhäjärvi.
Afterwards, we will transfer back to the start of the trip and say our goodbyes.

Itinerary
Day 0: Arrival
Arrive to either of the Hotel Pyhätunturi or the Lapland Hotels Luostotunturi in Luosto.
Day 1: Pyhä / Luosto – Yrjölä Hut
After meeting up at 9 am, we will transfer to the Luostonloma parking place and eat lunch. We will then strap on our skis and head out into the wilderness, skiing for a few hours until we reach our destination.
Day 2: Yrjölä Hut – Pyhälampi Pond
Starting at 10 am, we will head out and explore the surrounding Arctic wilderness. Depending on the weather and time, we will have the option to go ice fishing on the Saivo lakes, before reaching our final destination near Pyhälampi Pond, where we will camp.
Day 3: Pyhälampi Pond – Huttujärvi Lake
We will have another chance to go ice fishing, when we head out on our skis in the morning. We’ll spend the rest of the day skiing through the wilderness learning about local lore. In the evening, we will arrive at the mountain hut.
Day 4: Huttujärvi Lake – Pyhä
We will get up at 8 am and strap on our snowshoes to go head out into the Pyhä-Luosto fell range. Depending on how we feel and the weather, we can also head up to the fells at Noitatunturi (540 m). Afterwards, we will walk to Lake Pyhäjärvi, where we will enjoy a traditional sauna and transfer back to the hotel.
