Description

Chase untouched snow and thousands of metres of descent in the Monterosa Ski area, a freeride playground that links the charming valleys of Champoluc (Val d’Ayas), Gressoney and Alagna Valsesia — ideal for adventurous skiers and snowboarders who want wide glacier bowls, steep couloirs and long off-piste runs.

Ski lifts climb high into the Monte Rosa massif (the Indren/Punta Indren lift reaches about 3,275 m), giving access to glaciers, high alpine panoramas and descents with big vertical drops from the Passo dei Salati (≈ 2,971 m) down into the valleys.

Our guided freeride weeks combine lift-accessed lines with expert local knowledge: expect wide snowfields, tight couloirs and glacier terrain where our guides find the best, safest lines and the freshest powder even after storms. For a next-level adrenaline fix you can add heliskiing options (drop-offs from nearby heli hubs offering up to ~2,500 m of descent on select runs).

We also recommend a day of backcountry ski-mountaineering to experience Monte Rosa away from the crowds — a short skin up rewards you with remote panoramas and untouched lines. Equipment rentals are available locally for those who need them.

Ready to ride some of the most varied freeride terrain in the Alps? Join us for an unforgettable week of powder, big turns, and high-altitude adventure around Monte Rosa. Book now to reserve your place and score the best lines this season.

    FAQs

I'M A STRONG OFF-PISTE SKIER BUT I HAVE NO SKI MOUNTAINEERING EXPERIENCE. CAN I JOIN YOU?

This itinerary is designed for skiers with excellent previous on-piste skiing experience. Good skiing technique is required to move safely and efficiently, while conserving energy. If you're new to on-piste skiing and have never skied off-piste, we recommend focusing on developing your skills during the winter. Reaching the required level doesn't take long, with consistent commitment. To accelerate your progress, consider booking a private guide or taking our introductory ski mountaineering course for professional instruction.

I'M ON A SNOWBOARD. CAN I JOIN THIS TRIP?

Yes. You can participate with a snowboard. However, you must be open to renting a splitboard if the weather changes. This will allow us to access descents that require skinning.

HOW FIT DO I NEED TO BE?

This tour requires excellent physical fitness. You'll ski at high altitude for approximately 7 hours a day for 4 consecutive days. You need to be fit and strong to complete all the descents with control and have good technique to conserve energy.

WHAT SKIS AND OTHER EQUIPMENT SHOULD I BRING FOR THIS TRIP?

It's advisable to have the widest possible equipment. Modern freeride skis are lightweight and offer good performance even for climbing. It's recommended to have skis with a width of around 100/110 mm, equipped with low-tech bindings. It's also advisable to bring four-buckle ski touring boots.

WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS?

We'll adapt the itinerary to your needs, modifying individual stages or, if necessary, changing the entire route, to ensure you ski where the weather and trails are best. Whatever the forecast, we'll make sure your ski holiday is fantastic.
