Itinerary

Day 1: From Kander to Engstligental

Starting early in the morning from Kandersteg at 1170 meters, we will trek through the flower-rich alpine pastures to the rock faces of the Lohner, where we may spot the first chamois. We will ascend to the Bunderchrinde via several steep steps, experiencing the breathtaking transition into the Engstligental, and finally reaching Adelboden.

The distance is 16.3 km, with an elevation gain of 1400 meters and a descent of 1200 meters, and the running time is approximately 7 hours. After the trek, there will be an overnight stay with half board in Adelboden. You are advised to carry food and drinks in your backpack, with the option to stop at huts or restaurants along the way if available.

Day 2: From Engstligen to Simmental

Today's trek involves a gentle ascent through forests and moorland, crossing the Hahnenmoos Pass before descending to Lenk. This town in the basin of the Hinterer Simmental is surrounded by stunning waterfalls and the impressive Wildstrubel massif.

The distance covered is 13.8 km, with an ascent of 689 meters and a descent of 975 meters, taking approximately 5 hours to complete.

Following the trek, there will be an overnight stay with half board in Lenk. Participants are advised to carry food and drinks in their backpacks, with the option to stop at huts or restaurants along the way if available.

Day 3: From Simmen to Turbachtal

We'll begin the day by trekking across gentle alpine pastures and moist limestone cart terrain. The Trüttlisberg pass wil guide us through the expansive Turbachtal to the elegant town of Gstaad.

The distance to be covered is 21.6 km, with an ascent of 1100 meters and a descent of 1070 meters, taking approximately 7 hours to complete. There are bus connections near Turbach that can be used to shorten the long descent.

Participants are advised to carry food and drinks in their backpacks, with the option to stop at huts or restaurants along the way if available.

Alternatively, there is a Louwenesee variant, leading from Trütlisbergpass at 2033 meters to Louwenesee at 1379 meters and then continuing via Lauenen to Gstaad.

The journey concludes with a retreat and farewell, followed by individual return journeys.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
