Description

Would you like to enjoy a great ski touring week with a sea view? Then join me in this amazing tour in the Abruzzo region in southern Italy! This area is located between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine mountain range.

We will start our tour in the Maiella National Park, home of bears and wolves. And from the Amaro Mount (2795 m) we will be able to see a large part of the Adriatic cost.

Then, after three ski touring days, we will move to the Gran Sasso National Park. A charming restored castle at Campo Imperatore will serve us as accommodation and tour starting point. Campo Imperatore is an alpine meadow formed by a high basin shaped plateau.

You need previous ski touring experience in order to join this tour. The amazing peaks of the Gran Sasso reach an altitude of almost 3000 metres high. And they offer everything the skier can ask for! We will find altitude variations, panoramic overpasses, racy slopes and challenging gullies. And we will also enjoy gentle and lovely slopes, as well as fascinating views to the sea

Besides, we will not miss the delicacies of Italian cuisine and the great Montepulciano d'Abruzzo red wine!

So don't hesitate to contact me if you find this trip interesting. I will be happy to answer your questions. And we can start planning an amazing week in Abruzzo! I also offer a fantastic ski touring week in the Maira Valley. You can also check it out!

Mountain Guide

I am a IFMGA certified mountain guide and I'm passionated about nature. I was born in 1977 and before entering in the mountain life, I worked as a teacher in Borg Lienz.

I started training as a canyoning guide 15 years ago. Since 2009, I have also trained with canyoning leaders in Carinthia. Additionally, I have been on the road as a mountain and ski instructor. During the summers, I have guided a lot in Switzerland, where I took my guests to many mountains over 4000 meters high. My “motto” in the mountains and in life has always been the same: “Never stop exploring”

I work now for Carnicoalpin where our main objective is leading and accompanying you on steep mountains and great ski slopes with a particular focus set on safety.

For more information, please feel free to contact me. We can discuss about your wishes and the different options I offer. I will be really happy to be your guide and share a great moment with you!

Tobias knows the Matterhorn and the surrounding area extremely well. He will go at a level that is comfortable for you and help you reach whatever mountaineering goal you have. Another reviewer said Tobias knows every step on the Matterhorn - and this is absolutely true. He's one of the BEST around.

i guess it was a little our fault for not investigating the fact that due to weather its not always possible to climb the matterhorn, but we where notice 1 week before that the weather was not good, so it was very complicated to organize something interesting as second option.
