Description

The gorgeous French island of Corsica is the fourth largest in the Mediterranean Sea and is dominated by mountains that rise out of the waters.

It presents approximately 1,000 kilometers of coastline and a large bundle of mountains to peak your natural interest.

Ancient paths pierce through the wooded slopes and stunning natural parks, which makes up around half the island.

A large massif divides the idyllic island from the northwest across to the southeast and features a collection of 120 peaks that reach beyond 2,000 meters.

The geological nature of Corsica creates the perfect island paradise for wild hiking adventures.

Experience the Corsican mountains and return to nature, living among the colorful and dramatic terrain. Sleep under the stars guarded by high cliffs, dotted by ancient villages, with the soundtrack of the crashing Mediterranean waves.

Explore the wild side of Corsica with its rolling granite mountains, scrubby underbrush, and lush vegetation. And together with me and my experience of the region, we’ll reach the more secretive spots hidden to most hikers.

We’ll create an itinerary that is tailor-made to your own level of ability and wishes, which will be simple to design given the endless possibilities on the island.

About the guide

I consider myself a man of many facets, and Corsica sparked in me my most adventurous side

I've fallen in love with its massif and it became obvious that sharing my roamings through the wildest locations of the "island of beauty" is part of what I need for my personal balance and is an endless reward.

A qualified International Mountain Leader (IML) for 5 years, I spend most of my free time hiking with my Border-Collie Hendrix, the nicest dog you'll ever find;). I fancy wild and adventurous but "time-relaxed" hikings : the mountains are an unbelievable experience, and I intend to get the most out of them (and hopefully share it with you)!

I've got some experience with disabilities and mountaineering and really love these kind of challenges. I am a certified Cimgo pilot and would be very glad to help people with disbilities discover this unique tool!

When I'm not in the mountains, I cultivate my other facets. During the winter, I'm a carpenter and all year round I'm trying my best to build a better world. Consequently I'm always aiming to provide you with fresh and organic products from small local farmers.

I am really looking forward to hearing about your expectations and help you build the Corsican hiking project that will suit you perfectly!

Travelling through the Corsican mountains with Xavier and Hendrix, his four legged friend, was a trip we will never forget. Xavier is a brilliant guide, easy to spend time and very knowledgable, we immediately felt relaxed in his company.  We worked hard, saw beautiful and remote spots, swam in rivers and enjoyed the delicious local, organic food and wine that Xavier kindly carried along for our journey. It was a unique experience and we really enjoyed sharing it with both Xavier and Hendrix. We are always thinking of when we can next go back!
