Description

I invite you to join me on a fantastic hiking tour: during 4 days we will be hiking with an almost constant view of the spectacular Aletsch Glacier, through the Aletsch forest, from hotel to hotel.

Located in the canton of Valais, the Aletsch Glacier is the largest glacier in the Alps. This amazing 4-day hike takes you to feel the power of nature away from civilization, with the breathtaking view of the glacier and stunning mountain panoramas. Here, in the unique UNESCO World Heritage Jungfrau-Aletsch area and surroundings, we will enjoy the mountain summer.

On the first day, we will meet in Brig, in the canton of Valais. This day we will enjoy a hike  to Blatten and approach the glacier from below, through the Massa gorge along a bisse. We will see the glacier from the beautiful Belalp, where we will spend the first night.

In two further stages we will reach the well-secured suspension bridge and the Aletschwald, an old Arven larch forest located above the glacier. Later, we will reach a ridge overlooking the Aletsch Glacier on one side and many 4000-meter peaks on the other side, to the Bettmeralp.

Next day, in the early morning we will play a viewing game in the Aletsch Forest or in the adjacent area, learning more about the wildlife of the region. If we are lucky enough, we will also be able to observe wildlife close up. Afterwards we will have a well-deserved breakfast before heading off on another promising hike with a view of the Aletsch Glacier and many four-thousander.

On the last day, we will be even closer to the Aletsch glacier and also look sideways into this impressive glacier -always at a safe distance – before we reach the Märjelensee Lake. We enjoy a last short climb to say goodbye to the glacier, and then finally descend to Fiescheralp. We will overcome the majority of the altitude difference in the ascent to the Bettmeralp with the gondola.

We will hike for about 3 to 5 hours every day, with a total height difference of 200-700 metres during our hikes. This is a hike of intermediate level. There are a few slightly exposed areas, including a suspension bridge, which are well secured.

If you want to join me on this unique hiking tour and enjoy the spectacular view of the Aletsch Glacier, send me a request. Check the date below and book your trip! You can also have a look at other great hiking tours I guide in Switzerland.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
