Description

I invite you to join me on a 1-day basic avalanche course in Lesachtal. If you are regularly in contact with avalanche terrain, this is the perfect program for you. I will give you the theory, but most important, we will put the information in use!

During this day we will cover key topics, like companion rescue and individual and multiple burial search. Most important, I will also explain the use of LVS device, avalanche probe and scoop.

We will meet at the Hepi Lodge, in Obergail, in the Lesachtal Valley. Then, after a brief Power Point presentation, I will develop the theoretical information on companion rescue. Most important, we will put it in practice with various excercises, of individual and multiple burial search.

You will also learn how to properly handle your LVS device. Also, we will talk about group coordination.

Then, we will go on a short ski tour in the direction of Gamskofel. We will carry out other avalanche scenarios for companion rescue. So, this won't be a typical ski tour, but the practice of what we have just learnt. Also, the use of LVS device for a "fast" search.

I’m a IFMGA certified mountain guide and a nature lover. I was born in 1983 and I studied Cultural and social anthropology at the Vienna University.

Mountains, water, cultures have been always my passion. That’s why I’m a mountain, ski, canyoning and rafting guide, also a ski instructor and a snowboard enthusiast.

Helene and myself are the owners of the Hepi lodge. A space for mountaineers, climbers, skiing enthusiasts where besides offering the accommodation service we proposed varied programmes of different activities: rock climbing, ski touring, canyoning, hiking tours.

I guide most of my time in Lesachtal Valley: St Lorenzen, St Jakob, Birnbaum, Karnische Alps and Lienz Dolomites.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
