Would you like to acquire all the safety skills you need for your adventures in the mountains? Then join me on this avalanche rescue safety course in Austria where you can learn the theory and put it to practice!
Mountaineers, skiers, ice-climbers, all adventurers and explorers alike will highly benefit from this avalanche safety course. We will meet on the first day in the afternoon for a comprehensive and instructive lecture. I will explain the basics regarding equipment and techniques and also show you a few videos. Additionally, you will be able to ask questions, all in a cozy and welcoming environment. Then, on the next day, we will enjoy a short ski tour and put the theory to practice.
During the ski tour, I will point out the avalanche situation, track layout, danger signs, and other relevant information. Then, you will get the chance to put to use the avalanche spill search equipment and practice repeatedly so that in the future you can handle your avalanche transceiver equipment on your own. Additionally, I will include tour planning as part of the course.
Please keep in mind that this program is for anyone who wishes to join. It is an absolute must for all newbies, but will also benefit those with more experience.

Mountain Guide
Growing up in Salzburg's Lungau, Austria, my enthusiasm for the mountains has been rooted in me since childhood.
In winter, I passionately lead my guests on ski tours or show them the best runs while skiing off-piste. In later season I’m guiding in Norway (Lyngen/Senja). And another great passion is ice climbing on frozen waterfalls.
In summer I like to be out and about on rocks and ice in my local mountains but also abroad.
I look forward to go on tour together with you!

Klaus was a phenomenal guide. He was very experienced, extremely friendly and was an excellent teacher for multi-pitch rock climbing. He was able to push me through my mental limits without pressure and while always having our safety in mind and taught me everything I needed to know for my own multi-pitch adventures. In summary, Klaus was a phenomenal guide all around and I would recommend him to all my friends and family without a second thought! Thank you Klaus for your expert guidance and for giving me a once in a lifetime experience!

The whole experience was hard work seriously hard work. I had trained for months, but the pace we moved at, I did struggle at times and made mistakes. The weather will determine the pace you move because its your Guides job to help get you up and down safely, so be prepared. The Altitude did have an affect as well. Klau our guide was professional and did a marvellous job getting us up and down.
