Most of the tour takes place on wide, open slopes far from the ski resorts — offering quiet, uncrowded terrain and a true backcountry atmosphere.

Price details

  • The price includes mountain hut accommodation for 3 nights (without meals), the cost of a mountain guide, and transportation from Sapporo Railway Station and Otaru to and from the station.This is the car I drive.
  • The price does not include the cost of purchasing groceries needed for your mountain hut stay.
  • The minimum number of participants is 2. The maximum number of participants is 6.
  • Daily backcountry ski tours usually depart from the hut entrance, where you put on your skis with skins.
  • In some cases, we may depart from a location about a 10minute drive away.
  • About the mountain hut:
  • Accommodation will be in a large public mountain hut in the mountains of Daisetsuzan National Park.
  • Facilities include a lounge, shop, selfcatering facilities, a drying room, and a large hot spring bath.
  • Accommodation is in a dormitory format.Bedding is Provided. There are selfcatering facilities, but no restaurant. The kiosk sells drinks and basic groceries.
  • The mountain hut can be reached by car, but it is located in the mountains and there are no facilities nearby. There are no ski resorts nearby.
  • We plan to stop and shop at a large supermarket in town about a 30minute drive from the hut on every days. You'll be able to stock up on all the groceries you need.
  • The hut is very clean, comfortable, and very popular.

We'll meet at either Sapporo or Otaru Railway Station.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & First Tracks

Travel to Niseko in the morning. Short ski touring in the afternoon.

Day 2: Deep Powder Adventures

Ski touring in Niseko or the middle of Mt. Yotei.

Day 3: Summit & Explore

Ski touring in Niseko or the middle of Mt. Yotei.

Day 4: Final Run & Farewell

Short ski touring in the morning. Return to Otaru and Sapporo in the afternoon.
