Mount Elbert (4401 m) is located very close to Aspen. To get to the peak, you only have to take a short drive southeast. The mountain is famous among mountaineers because it is the highest mountain in both the Rockies, and in Colorado. Yet, despite its enormity, it is actually fairly easy to climb.
This program will start at the Twin Lakes. This is a beautiful spot that we’ll be able to appreciate even more from the summit of Mount Elbert. The climb will take approximately 8 hours and involves a wonderfully scenic hike through a forest and onto a rocky ridge and finishes with a moraine at the top.
The 360 degrees view of the Central Rockies that you’ll get from the summit is unparalleled. And the best part is getting to enjoy that view involves an easy hike that you’ll be able to do it with your family, including young children!
So don’t hesitate and send us a request to make this extraordinary adventure in Mount Elbert a reality.
