Looking for a program in France to discover a wilderness area away from the crowds? Then this 1-day snowshoeing trip near Mercantour is ideal for you.

Join me on this trip, and cross pristine natural areas on snowshoes. We will explore the French commune of Venanson and go around the Haute Vésubie region, near the Mercantour National Park.

On this 1-day trip, the path will lead us to Crête de Spivol (1,320 meters), a mountain from where we’ll get to see spectacular panoramic views. As we move forward, we’ll discover more remote areas and breathe the quiet that these peaceful spots offer. Finally, we’ll reach the ski station called La Colmiane, at 1,750 meters above sea level.

Please, consider that we’ll face an elevation gain of 500 meters on this trip, so it’s important to have a good fitness level.

I booked a tour with Fabrice on late May, definitely the highlight of my holiday, we went on a hike around Casterino It was a relaxed hike with great sights of mountain forests and lakes, I got to see some of the local fauna and flora of the park, ibex, marmots, chamois, although not as much as they would be in the area, possibly because of the wolfs (we saw some footprints). Overall it is a great way to see the surroundings. I would definitely recommend Fabrice as a guide for your next hike!
