Discover the astonishing limestone plateaus and the spotless snowy fields on this snowshoeing tour through the Préalpes d’Azur.

The Préalpes d’Azur is one of the regional natural parks located in the Maritime Alps department, France. Inside this park, we will go through the Gréolières community where you can find the Gréolières-les-Neiges. This is one of the most important ski resorts in the area. With a height between 1,400 and 1,800 meters, you can admire the view of outstanding panoramas from the Mercantour National Park to the Mediterranean sea.

During this tour, you will explore the Cheiron Mountain and reach one of its summits, la Croix de Verse. At this point, we will be at 1,706 meters above sea level. From the roof of the Cheiron, you will be able to see the most beautiful landscapes. Enjoy the crepuscular lights while you go downhill and see the contrast between the white from the snow and the red from the wild pines.

I booked a tour with Fabrice on late May, definitely the highlight of my holiday, we went on a hike around Casterino It was a relaxed hike with great sights of mountain forests and lakes, I got to see some of the local fauna and flora of the park, ibex, marmots, chamois, although not as much as they would be in the area, possibly because of the wolfs (we saw some footprints). Overall it is a great way to see the surroundings. I would definitely recommend Fabrice as a guide for your next hike!
