Description

Make something special out of everyday life and experience the mountains in full moonlight. Or, at least, experience the silence of the mountains at night. Either way, this tour near Zurich is a unique experience.

We will ski down the Laucherenstockli (1756m). You only need to be in good physical condition for a 2/3-hours ascent and some ski touring experience. I will run a quick ski test to make sure you could be able to ski at night.

We will meet at 16:30PMp. If you need to complete your equipment or take the ski test, please come at 6PM.

The tour takes place in all weather conditions. We will make flexible and relatively short-term decisions based on the current snow situation, but staying as close as possible to Zurich. You will be able to return to Zurich around midnight.

At night, it is usually a little colder than during the day, so a down jacket is highly recommended.

You will need suitable touring gear, complete touring equipment with skins, avalanche transceiver, shovel, probes and headlamp! I recommend carrying an avalanche airbag.

Urs, our main mountain guide, was very helpful in answering my queries before the course, and Lupe from explore-share was helpful in selecting the course. We had 3 groups under Urs, Mario and Patrick, and I was in the group with Patrick. He gave us a lot of nice tips and individualized video analysis. He made a special effort to convey everything in English, since I don't know German. All the participants were very helpful and friendly too! The course is good value for money as skis are included for the weekend in the course price.
