Description

Are you looking for an exciting winter experience in Chile? Then join me! Let’s go the Nevados de Sollipulli on a glacier travel and crevasse self-rescue course!

Nevados de Sollipulli is a volcanic complex in the Chilean region of La Araucanía, close to the small town of Melipeuco. It is part of the Southern Volcanic Zone of the Andes, and home to several impressive glaciers.

This 4-day course is for people who want to make winter ascents that involve crossing glaciers. My goal is to provide you the basic techniques of glacier progression and some important self-rescue skills for crevasses. Keep in mind that it requires some basic knowledge of crampons and ice axe usage, as well as a good fitness level.

We will work on:

  • Basic glaciology

  • Knots for glacier progression and self-rescue maneuvers

  • Glacier progression: tie-in and individual techniques

  • Self-rescue in glaciers

So, if you want to explore the impressive Nevado de Sollipulli and become a better climber, then please contact me! Get ready for a 4-day course in a breathtaking area!

I also offer a 5-day mountaineering course near Pucon. Check it out here.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
