If you are looking for an exciting ski mountaineering tour, join me on this 5-day trip in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park. We will explore an extremely wild and isolated location in the Alps, reaching the summit of the beautiful Gran Paradiso (4061m) and enjoying incredible runs.

The Gran Paradiso lies between the Aosta Valley and the Piedmont region, in the northwest of Italy, very close to the French border. I will take you on a fantastic 5-day ski mountaineering adventure, only for skiers with a good level and previous ski mountaineering experience.

We will enjoy a high mountain environment, staying in different traditional mountain huts during the tour, like the Vittorio Sella, Chabod, Vittorio Emmanuele and Pontese refuges.

Starting from Valnontey on the first day, we will be in out in the mountains, climbing and skiing for about 5 to 7 hours each day. You can check the detailed itinerary below.

On the third day of our tour, we will reach the Gran Paradiso summit (4061m). This beautiful mountain is the tallest in the Gran Paradiso National Park and the only 4000-metre mountain located completely in Italian territory.

Climbing the Gran Paradiso is a beautiful and classic tour in the Alps. Although it is considered one of the least difficult 4000- meter peaks to climb, it still has an ascent of 1300 meters and it offers a true high mountain environment.

Day 1: Valnontey (1660m) – Vittorio Sella Hut (2584m) / +900m/3hours

Day 2: Vittorio Sella Hut (2584m) – Chabod Hut (2750m) /+ 1350m/ -8500m/ 7 hours

Day 3: Chabod Hut (2750m) – Gran Paradiso (4061m) – Vittorio Emmanuele Hut (2752m) / +1310m/ -1350m / 6 hours

Day 4: Vittorio Emmanuele Hut (2752m) - Pontese Hut (2200m) / +930m/ -1400m/ 5hours

Day 5: Pontese Hut (2200m) – Lillaz (1600m) / +1100m / -1700m/ 5 hours

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland.
