Description

Ever heard about Nordic walking? It is a new sport with multiple benefits. And the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park is one of the best places to practice this fantastic outdoors activity.

So don’t miss out on this excellent opportunity to discover all the amazing things about Nordic walking, while exploring this paradise in Spain.

Nordic walking is a sport that was created in Finland, as a way for skiers to keep training even during the summer months when there is no snow. At the end of the 90’s, special poles were created for this fantastic activity. So it basically involves using this special poles with unique movements.

You will learn how to move the superior part of your body as you are hiking. Hence, it will improve your muscle tone, coordination and mobility. Also it is the best way to stay fit, as it is more effective than simply walking without the poles. Moreover, you’ll use 90% of your muscles, straining less your articulations. What’s more you’ll immediately feel the results, benefiting your cardiovascular system and avoiding premature aging. Plus, it will help you reduce your stress levels, as well as the tension in the cervicals and neck.

Our meeting point will be the Hotel La Barranca in the Barranca Valley. Thereupon our adventure begins. As I’ll be teaching you all the basic moves you’ll need from our journey. After a short briefing, we’ll head towards the Sierra de Guadarrama. There we’ll spend the rest of the day practicing and perfecting your techniques.

Allow me to share my passion for this wonderful sport with you. Follow me into this Nordic walk adventure into the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park.

Would you like to keep exploring the area? I also guide this Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, 6-day hike.

What people are saying about Pedro

Pedro was so knowledgeable about the area, and graciously answered all our questions, even those unrelated to the hike. He was very kind in picking us up from Madrid for a small fee. He also took a bunch of photos of my husband and I during the trek, which I really appreciated since those are our only pictures together from our trip to Spain. I'd definitely recommend Pedro to anyone traveling to Madrid and interested in experiencing nature outside the city.
