Description

Ride with Noriko Ishimatsu, Japanese snowboarder and Freeride World Qualifier athlete, on the stunning slopes of Nozawa Onsen.

Lying in the central region of Nagano, its abundance of mountains provides endless slopes for people of all levels of ability and experience.

The top of the resort is Mt. Kenashi, which soars to 1,650 meters, while the resort as a whole covers 297 hectares.

I am a Freeride World Qualifier athlete with 15 years of snowboarding experience, as well as intimately knowing the mountains surrounding Nozawa Onsen.

The village has a history that dates back to the 8th century and is famed for its hot springs. Lately the area has gained a strong reputation as a skiing resort, which together with the prefecture of Nagano hosted the 1998 Winter Olympics.

The region offers an abundance of light powder snow and a wide breadth of terrain. Whichever slopes we decide to choose, the great snow quality and variety of runs, from beginner to advanced, mean you we can find the ideal run.

I am not a certified mountain guide, so please keep in mind that, for safety reasons, we will stay within ski resort boundaries at all times. Participants are responsible for their own insurance coverage.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
