Hakuba has been a sought-after ski destination long before it rose to prominence with the 1998 Winter Olympics. The resorts of Nagano have always been home to a perfect blend of quantity and quality in regard to its snow, making it famous within Honshu and Japan before breaking out worldwide. Many professional events take place in the surrounding mountainside, offering some of the best resort facilities in the realm of winter sports.

You can have all this while kicking the peanut around with me! I’m a passionate powder hound, Freeride World Tour skier, and Hakuba aficionado. We will have a blast skiing through some of my favorite terrain and snowscapes, admiring the scenery of this amazing location. I am currently ranked second in Japan and 60th in the world. Nothing gets me as excited to hit the slopes as this incredible region in the northern Japanese Alps.

Japan is loaded with incredible culture and this experience only adds to its charm. We will stick to the resorts and piste runs that have made this destination famous.  You can look forward to a cultural blitz in a ski village that knows skiing well and knows how to ski well. While this is a great half-day freeride program, you should be an intermediate or expert skier. This means you are capable of assessing your own skill and ability. A general level of fitness is also necessary to take on the runs of Hakuba. I am not an instructor or guide, so the goal of our trip will be to share some runs and laughs and have a great time on the mountain.
