Lying in central Japan in the prefecture of Nagano, the valley of Hakuba is home to impressive highlands, where its snow-covered mountains receive international attention. The amazing alpine landscapes are home to soaring summits above 3,000 meters.

The 11 skiing resorts of Hakuba offer a great variety of runs. Around a third is suitable for beginners, another third for intermediates and a final third for advanced skiers.

The region receives great heaps of snow, even 11-13 meters of snowfall in some places. This creates wonderful long and well-groomed runs that zig-zag across the valley.

The ski resorts of Happo and Goryu are areas that I know intimately.so I can show you around the best and hidden runs that they have to offer. And I can also take you to famous spots that have been filmed and photographed in many freeriding magazines and films.

And when the snow falls and clouds hang low, under low visibility, we can try out the bundle of tree runs that are scattered across the mountainside.

Happo One, arguably the most popular resort in the region, has plenty of vertical and sleep slopes, as well as many long well-groomed runs.

Goryu offers a more peaceful and family friendly atmosphere, with incredible views of the surrounding mountains.
