Located near the city of Los Angeles, the history behind the Bridge to Nowhere is fascinating. Originally built to connect Azuza through the mountains to another highway, the road leading to the bridge was wiped out in a flood in 1938. Afterwards, no efforts were made to rebuild the road. As a result, the bridge was never driven on and the only way to access the bridge is through a 10 mile long, round trip hike. As strange as it is beautiful, the Bridge to Nowhere is definitely not something you would expect to see while trekking through the area it is located. However, once you do see it, you’ll be glad you did.
The trail used to reach the Bridge to Nowhere is not very difficult. However, due to the distance, you should be in good physical condition.
