Description

It’s hard to top an adventure like splitboarding on the slopes of Iceland. However, on this 6 day trip, I think basing that kind of splitboarding adventure from a beautiful sailboat may do just that.

The sailboat which will be your lodging as well as your transportation is named the Aurora. It is a terrific vessel that will provide you with plenty of comfort and delicious meals every day. Moreover, you will also get to enjoy spectacular views from the boat’s deck, where you can enjoy the sensational scenery of Iceland.

Our first stop on this trip will be the abandoned whaling station of Hesteyri. You will get plenty of time to explore this fascinating place that represents a time long past. And because of the surreal nature of the seasons during this trip you will also get the chance to enjoy a midnight run under the late night sun!

For the next few days, we will be stopping in amazing places like Veiðileysufjörður and Lónafjörður. These two fjords offer an assortment of fantastic splitboarding descents on virgin slopes. They also offer some great views, and in the case of Lónafjörður, opportunities for kayaking and seal watching. Other highlights on the remainder of the trip include Hrafnfjörður, where you can enjoy more descents and mussle picking, and the bay of Ísafjarðardjúp, which we will cross on our way back to Isafjordur.

A great adventure, on both land and sea, this 6 day splitboarding tour is unforgettable. To be a part of it, just send me a request, come to Iceland and board the Aurora.

I can also take you on a week long splitboarding adventure in the Troll Peninusla.

Mountain Guide

I'm Iceland's first IFMGA internationally certified mountain guide. I'm a member of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides ACMG with whom I finished my certification. I have climbed and skied extensively all over the world, and I lived and worked in both the European Alps and the mountains of Western Canada.
I have brought this wealth of diverse experiences to Iceland and the Arctic North where I have to my name over a hundred first ascents and descents in Iceland and Greenland.
My love of the mountains grew from an early age working as a shepherd on my grandparent's farm on the Troll Peninsula in Northern Iceland. Or maybe it had something to do with my name, which in English would translate directly to Glacier Mountain man.
If you want to discover this beautiful country, please get in touch with me and let's leave together for incredible adventure!
