Today I am happy to invite you to Las Peinetas in a 1 or more day trip!
Also known as the Millalifen massif, Las Peinetas (The Combs in English) is a spectacular geomorphological formation of volcanic origin. It lies on the Chilean-Argentine border, east of Puesco, in the Villarrica National Park. Its complex shape combines edges, towers and tips, giving the feel of a rock castle!
Las Peinetas offers sheer walls of 400 meters long soaring over the Trancura River Valley. The ascent can be done in one long day. For those who prefer spending the night in the valley, we can return the following day.
The formation of this massif is composed of a large central rocky tower with abrupt vertical walls whose altitude exceeds 2000 meters. We can find an altitude change that varies between 400m and 500m.
Towards the northeast of the central tower there is a rocky edge of smaller height. To the south there is a set of higher rocky tips and walls which are separated from the central tower by two cliffs.
As you can imagine, Las Peinetas is a big challenge for those who are in search of a great goal near the Andes. During this trip I’ll guide a small group. In case I am not available at the date of your arrival, my brother Cristobal can take my place.
So, what are you waiting for? Contact me now if you want to be part of this wonderful experience! I am sure you won’t regret it.
