1-day ski touring in Mondeval, an exciting experience for beginners at the heart of the Dolomites, together with an IFMGA guide.

Alps

1 Day

Jan - May, Dec

Description

This Mondeval ski touring day is ideal for beginners who want to improve their skiing skills. Besides, it’s a great opportunity to discover the beauty of this valley in the heart of the Dolomite Mountains.

Mondeval De Sora is an alpine valley in the Dolomites, a part of the Alps in northeastern Italy. At 2150 meters high, this large plateau stands in the middle of the rock walls of Mount Formin, Corvo Alto, Becco di Mezzodì and Col Duro.

Close to this green valley it’s the town of Cortina d’Ampezzo, one of the best spots for skiing in the country. Cortina is a winter sport resort with a wide range of skiing trails for all levels. In fact, it is known as ‘the pearl of the Dolomites’.

Some of the main areas to practice snow sports in this area are Faloria, Cristallo, Pocol-Tofana and Cinque Torri.

Because of its 400 kilometers of ski slopes, Cortina is included in the Dolomiti Superski, the most famous and large skiing circuit in the Dolomites.

I strongly reccommend visiting this place during winter. You will be able to improve your skiing technique and also admire wonderful landscapes in the surroundings.

If you want to be a part of this skiing tour, please contact me. I will be glad to help you plan the best training day according to your level.

Mountain Guide

I started my career as an aerospace engineer, my first passion and then became a full-time IFMGA mountain guide, my second passion, since 2013. Working as a mountain guide gratifies me a lot. I enjoy very much transmitting my knowledge about the mountains and its activities to my friends and clients.

I’m based in the Dolomites where I have climbed most of the mountain surroundings us here, including “Via attraverso il Pesce” in Marmolada and “Captain sky-hook” in Civetta. I also enjoy a lot guiding in the rest of the Alps, ice climbing, ski touring, freeride skiing, rock climbing and mountaineering.

Feel free to contact me if you want to live a great adventure in the Dolomites or anywhere else in the Alps, during the winter or the summer. It will be a great pleasure for me to guide you and allow you to reach your goal. I work with other mountain guides in the Veneto area, such as Filippo, Massimo, and my brother Daniele. If I am unavailable on the date you are interested in coming climbing, skiing, or engaging in other activities with me, I can connect you with one of them.

3 stars Marmolada is due to weatherconditions. Lack of new snow. Enrico found good snow in parts of the glacier. 5 stars to him. Before we went up to the glacier, Enrico took us for a testride offpiste to see if we would be able to ski difficult conditions. Very good.

To be honest we are very disappointed. We signed up for the day of free ride on Marmolada but Enrico wisely said the snow conditions were not conducive for doing that. He offered to do other activities (specifically ski touring) but that is not what we paid for or signed up for, and did not want to do that. Since he offered “alternative activities” it appears we lose 100% of the cost per Explore-Share policy. This is extremely unfair. Enrico seemed like a good guy and probably a very good guide, but I would NOT recommend Explore Share to anyone! Terrible experience for an expensive day.

Geremia was great to have for my first time ice climbing. He went over all the basics and gave me tips on my climbing that really helped out. All of this in a beautiful location! Highly recommended!

Enrico was extremely knowledgeable of the area and was able to put us in great snow despite the lack of snowfall over the past few weeks. Wonderful day!
