Description

Mount Hood (3,429m) is an extraordinary peak for a number of reasons, including its beauty and accessibility. However, another wonderful aspect of the peak is the varied ways from which you can climb it. As a result, while it is popular because of the relative ease you can reach the summit by way of the South side route, there are also other, far more challenging routes you can take to the top. And for the purpose of this 2 day journey, we will be taking those challenging routes. Thus giving you a thrilling, and difficult, but ultimately very satisfying climbing experience.

The selection of challenging spots on Mount Hood that you will be visiting on this trip include Leuthold’s Couloir, the Wy’East route and the West Crater Rim. All of those spots, along with several others, will test  your skills and push your abilities to their limits, and perhaps even further, until we reach the summit, where you can enjoy the fantastic views!

Due to the advanced level of this trip, it is important that participants have a great deal of prior mountaineering experience. It is also imperative that participants are in excellent physical condition. Furthermore, in an effort to help you advance your already seasoned experience, we will also be offering lessons and tips on several advanced level techniques during this trip. Those lessons include steep snow climbing techniques, anchors and belaying, how to transition on multi-pitch snow and ice climbs, and much more.  This will ensure that your already seasoned skills will be even more improved by the end of the trip.

If you are looking for a challenge, this advanced level trip to the top of Mount Hood is for you. And all you have to do to be a part of it is send us a request.

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!

Nate was very knowledgeable and got me to the top of mountain. He’s not as engaging as most of the guides I’ve had over the years. I’ve learned a lot about most of my climbs as guides talk about the mountain and the area maybe even plant and animals and I enjoy getting to know them better. We did talk a bit more on the way out of the trailhead. All in all a good experience. But not sure your company told him I had a knee replacement and would be slow.
