Description

Mount Shasta, with an estimated volume of 350 km3, is the most voluminous stratovolcano in the Cascade Range. Located near the Oregon border in northern California, it is the fifth-highest volcano in the state, reaching 4,321m. On this 3-day  tour we will take the most popular and easiest route to its summit: Avalanche Gulch.

Many climbers try to reach the summit of Mount Shasta. All of the routes present challenges and hazards. The most popular one is Avalanche Gulch, which gains about 7,300 feet (2,200 m) of elevation, in an approximated 11.5 miles (18.5 km) round trip.

On our three-day guided ascent to Shasta you will learn the basics of mountaineering: ice climbing, crampon use, route finding and safety. No previous experience is necessary.

Shasta and its surroundings are part of the Shasta–Trinity National Forest, which encompasses five wilderness areas, hundreds of lakes and more than 6,000 miles of streams and rivers. While climbing this peak, you will enjoy unforgettable views of this wonderful scenery.

So, if you want to enjoy an amazing outing to the summit of Mount Shasta, please contact me! We´ll be glad to guide you on this unforgettable mountaineering experience!

This trip will be operated by one of the 3 permit holder outfitters: Shasta Mountain Guides, Alpine Skills International and SWS Mountain Guides.

Ended up booking a one-night-and-one-day hike summiting Mt Shasta because Mt Rainier was booked out.

I really loved it. Intro to rock climbing was an amazing experience. Explore-share team were so helpful in the process. The trip that I chose in the first place was not available and they managed to find alternatives and offer me the best possible solution in that situation. In the end I had a wonderful day and could not be happier!

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

It would have been helpful to know it was suppose to be a Matterhorn prep course. The goals of the group were a little different.
