New Year Climbing Holiday - Leonidio, Greece

Welcome 2023 in the picturesque seaside town of Leonidio, Greece on a unique rock climbing adventure in Greece!

We will enjoy the sunshine, beautiful climbing routes on orange rock, and a memorable New Year's Eve celebration with new rock climbing friends!

Leonidio is a small seaside town, located in Peloponnese, just three hours by car from Athens. It emerges from two facing mountains, and in between them, the river Daphnon separates the picturesque village in two. The area holds more than 1,700 routes on highly-featured limestone. The climbing is enjoyable and varied: tufa columns, smooth crimpy walls, caves with stalactites, and orange balance walls are part of the fun.

On this tour, we will focus both on enjoying the climbing and on improving your movement repertoire and mental approach to climbing, teaching you how to move efficiently on the rock!

The tour includes 5 days of climbing with coaching, and two days to rest and do sightseeing in between. Additionally, you can enjoy an exciting New Year's Eve party at a local restaurant.

This amazing Leonidio rock climbing adventure is suitable for complete beginners and up to 6c+ climbers (8- UIAA)

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
⦁ Technique for more efficient climbing: back-step , drop-knee, high step, gaston, inside flag, outside flag, toe-hook, heel-hook, smearing.
⦁ Proper footwork to maximize your efficiency on the rock.
⦁ Choosing the right climbing gear for your needs and how to use it safely.
⦁ Belaying on top rope and learning how to set a correct top rope yourself.
⦁ How to lead climb and lead belay.
⦁ Correct communication practice at the crag between the belayer and leader.
⦁ Making good use of climbing guidebooks.
⦁ Cleaning the routes to safely retrieve your gear.
⦁ Footwork on slabs, vertical walls, and overhangs (steep walls).
⦁ Learning how to rest during the climb.
⦁ Route reading: Establish your climbing plan & find the right beta/solution for the entire route.
