Discover Leonidio, one of the largest and still undeveloped climbing areas in Europe, on this 3-day rock climbing trip together with a certified mountain guide.
Leonidio is a small traditional town on the Peloponnese Peninsula, less than 4 hours away from Athens. It’s also a fast-growing but still quite undeveloped climbing area.
Boasting more than 1000 climbing routes in high-quality limestone, this Greek village certainly has the potential of turning into the next major climbing destination in Europe.
Lying along the shore of the Mediterranean Sea, Leonidio welcomes visitors with a stunning view of the cliffs and crags that surround the town. The climbing routes are right there, spreading out within a 20-kilometer radius and reaching altitudes of 800 m.
Furthermore, the number of new routes is always growing and new routes are still waiting to be developed.
There’s also a great variety of bars, cafes and fish taverns close to the beach. That way, you’ll cover all the needs before and after climbing and enjoy a complete Greek experience!
Another highlight of this area is the fact that it’s an all-year-round destination, allowing climbers to travel there even in winter.
