Description

Do you want to spend New Year’s Eve in an original way? Then join me on this 1-day ski tour to say goodbye to a fantastic year!

We will be in the beautiful Swiss Alps, close to Zurich. So you can still go back to the city to celebrate the New Year if you with to.

During the day we will ascend at a comfortable pace, from 600 to 1000 meters, depending on your level, the weather conditions and the exact chosen itinerary. The descents will not be extreme, but there will be some adrenaline! I will include some steep sections (unless you are not up for it).

I favor good snow to famous spots. Switzerland’s mountains are stunning whether they are or not renown. That is why I will take you to the spots with the best snow on this special day, always near Zurich.

Please note that you do need to have some ski touring experience to join, as it is not a training tour. Although no extensive experience is needed! Only one prior ski tour day is enough.

Equipment: suitable touring gear, complete touring equipment with skins, avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe, sunscreen and snacks. I recommend carrying an avalanche airbag. Contact me if you need to rent part of the equipment.

I had am amazing time during the 1-day off-piste training course at Hoch-Ybrig. Urs, our main mountain guide, was very helpful in answering my queries before the course, and Lupe from explore-share was helpful in selecting the course. We had 3 groups under Urs, Mario and Patrick, and I was in the group with Patrick. He gave us a lot of nice tips and individualized video analysis. He made a special effort to convey everything in English, since I don't know German. All the participants were very helpful and friendly too! The course is good value for money as skis are included for the weekend in the course price.
