Description

Sierra de Guara is a massif (2,077 m) of the Aragonese Pyrenees, lying in the province of Huesca, in northern Spain. Most of the mountain range lies inside the natural park ‘Sierra and Canyons de Guara’, the largest protected area in the region of Aragon, which extends over about 47,450 hectares.

Sierra and Canyons de Guara is one of Europe’s top destinations for canyoning and the site where this activity was first held in Spain. It features stunning limestone mountains ranging from 430 to 2,077 meters, deep narrow canyons, caves, waterfalls, and more than 70 blue-green river gorges.

This canyoning adventure is a fun and dynamic experience to share with friends and family (children aged 10+ can participate). You can join me on a 1-day or longer trip. Sierra de Guara offers numerous canyoning routes for all levels and tastes. Therefore, our exact itinerary will depend on participants’ time availability, previous canyoning experience, and goals.

Among the easier canyons, we can try Final del Mascun, Rodellar, or Formiga. Among those with an intermediate level of difficulty, a few options are Rio Vero and Oscuros del Balcez. If you are interested in trying the harder canyons, two of my favorites are Mascun and Gorgas Negras. Whichever we choose, I guarantee you will enjoy abseiling, sliding and jumping in refreshing natural pools in one of the world’s most magical wild environments.

Don’t miss this exciting canyoning getaway in the scenic Sierra and Canyons de Guara Natural Park. Send me your booking request now. Tell me about your background, interests and time availability, and I will prepare a program tailored just for you!

If you are looking for other activities in the area, check out the Riglos 3-day big wall climbing and the 6-day hut-to-hut ski touring in Les Encantats.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
