Highlights

Do you love hiking in the mountains but feel terrified if you suddenly come upon a steep descent? This 3-day training course will help you overcome your fear of heights, through simple techniques and safe experiences.

We will put the theory into practice in the beautiful natural environment around Mayoux, a tiny village in Val d’Anniviers, in the canton of Valais. Check the dates below and join a group!

Acrophobia is an extreme fear of heights, especially when you are not particularly high up, but most of the time, fear of heights is a simple illusion: it is our brain playing us a dirty trick.

Having a good head for heights may sound like a dream to you, but with this course you will learn to control the tension and find the pleasure of hiking freely, whatever the path is.

We are both experienced mountain leaders. I am passionate about mountains and nature. François Castell, my team partner during this course, also holds a degree on Mental Training. He enjoys building educational pathways based on dynamic and participative practices.

Our teaching method is based on sharing experiences and techniques in natural scenarios, always in complete physical and psychological safety.During these days, you will acquire the techniques you need to feel confident and overcome the dizziness you may feel.

We will have a theory lesson on the first day and then we will venture into the beautiful surroundings of Mayoux for a practical training. You can check the day-by-day itinerary below.

So if you want to overcome your fear of heights, don’t miss on this opportunity! Join us and start enjoying your hikes in the mountains.

    About the Guide

I'm a UIMLA mountain leader, a rescuer and a journalist. Since 18 years, the mountain is my office and my full-time job. My passion is about to transmit the small and big secrets of nature but also to allow everyone to find his right balance in an environment which might appear as hostile but which is actually a large reservoir of unsuspected individual energy. Here in the mountain, the masks fall down and that's the good point of it !
